Last modified January 9, 2020

Adkodas LLC ("Adkodas") is in the business of helping you learn and understand from your data while taking reasonable steps to provide security and privacy. In this Privacy Policy, we explain how what information we collect and why and how we use that information.

In short, we are interested in helping you understand your data, not in collecting data about you. We seek to collect only such personal information as we need in order to be in contact with you, do business with you, and maintain the safety and security of our server (including your data).

This Privacy Policy applies only to Adkodas, and does not apply to the practices or websites of companies not owned by Adkodas. For information about the privacy of your payments for Adkodas' services, see the Privacy Policy of PayPal, the firm through which payments are processed.

Information we collect

Adkodas collects personal and business information when you visit, contact, or upload data to our site, such as your name, institution name, email address, and any data sets you upload.

Additional personal and business information is collected through a PayPal gateway in order to process payment. Such information is not collected or stored by Adkodas, and the Privacy Policy describing the collection and use of such data is the Privacy Policy of PayPal.

We store data sets submitted by users to Adkodas in files associated with the user identity from which they were received.

Similar to other commercial web sites, our web site (the "Website") utilizes Web server logs to collect information about how our Website is used and to secure it. Information gathered through Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Website, and the web sites visited just before and just after our Website.

Adkodas does not currently use web cookies, but the information below lays out policy for how any such information would be used if cookies are implemented for additional site functionality in the future (additionally, a Privacy Policy update would be issued to users in that event).

How we use collected information

Personal and business information you supply to Adkodas is used only to provide products or services you have requested, in reply to direct inquiries to Adkodas, or as necessary for administration of your account (e.g. if there is an administrative difficulty with your account or if your account subscription is nearing expiration).

Adkodas will use your contact information to reach you with updates and offers about Adkodas services only if you choose to "opt in" via our site, email, or other form of direct contact thereafter. Such contacts will be limited in number and frequency, consisting only of announcements of significant new updates or features added to Adkodas services or of special offers or challenges to encourage innovative use and development of Adkodas. If you choose to "opt in" to such announcements, you may "opt out" at any time either by contacting us via the Adkodas website or by email.

Any Adkodas web cookies are intended solely to create an interactive Website for use of Adkodas Services; cookies are not used to track your web activity to or from any site other than our own.

Web server logs are kept and archived for the purpose of server functionality and security; we do not seek to link any personally identifying technical information in server logs (e.g. IP address) with any contact information you may submit to us, and we keep and store web server personal information and any other personal information separately.

Adkodas stores data sets submitted to us only in files directly associated with the identifying information used to submit them, accesses them solely for the purposes of providing you our data analysis services, and does not share them without your express consent. You may delete data sets submitted to Adkodas at any time by contacting us via our site or email.

Adkodas will not share, rent, or otherwise share your personal information or other information we collect about you (e.g. data sets, cookies, Web server logs) with any other persons, companies, or organizations, except in the following circumstances:

With your consent: Adkodas will share your information with persons, companies or organizations outside of Adkodas when you have given consent to do so; such consent must be express and "opt in" in nature for Adkodas to use your consent to share your information.

Legal reasons: Adkodas complies with laws, regulations, legal process, and enforceable government action. Furthermore, Adkodas may share your information if deemed reasonably necessary in order to enforce or investigate potential violations of Adkodas Terms of Use, suspected fraud or illegal activities, or potential threats to the rights, property or safety of Adkodas, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

Should Adkodas become involved in an acquisition, merger, or other sale, we will continue to ensure your privacy and confidentiality and give affected users notice before any collected information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Confidentiality and security

We strive to ensure that your personal information, data sets, and other collected information are safe from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information, including the use of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) secure internet communications, ongoing review of security safeguards, and restriction of access to information to Adkodas members and employees who we reasonably believe need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict confidentiality contractual obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet those obligations.

Furthermore, we actively encourage and advise all users of Adkodas services to pre-process and remove any personally identifying information from data sets submitted to Adkodas, not only to protect your confidentiality and security and that of the data set and its subjects, but also to improve the functionality of our data analysis service.

You may have specific rights under the EU's GDPR and California's CCPA or other statutes, but regardless Adkodas recognizes your right to request or delete any data we have on you (given reasonable measures to ensure the identity of the person making the request). Adkodas has the default position of all users being effectively "opted out" of any sharing or selling data; as expressed above, such sharing only takes place only with explicit "opt in" agreements or as part of legal requirements or recourse.

Changes to this policy

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Any changes to this Policy will be posted on this page and, if significant, will be shared more prominently (e.g. prominently featured on our website front page and/or notice sent to your provided email address).
